Client conversations changed overnight. Utilization comes straight off the Workforce Dashboard now — no reconstructed timesheets, no debates.

The challenge

Billable delivery teams working across multiple client projects had no clean way to prove utilization, and timesheet reconstruction ate hours every week.

The solution

Department time distribution and expected-vs-actual dashboards gave Tensech client-ready utilization reports and retired manual timesheets entirely.

// How the rollout ran

From first agent to full results

The Tensech implementation, phase by phase — machine approval, baseline, app-rule tuning, and the payoff.

01Week 1
Rollout

Delivery teams installed the Windows and macOS agents themselves; admins approved each machine from the approval lifecycle queue the same day. Offline app capture mattered immediately — IDEs, design tools, and local dev servers all showed up without plugins.

02Weeks 2–3
Baseline

Two weeks of untouched Timeline data revealed the real shape of a delivery day: deep build blocks in the morning, a fog of unmarked apps and context switching after lunch. The Workforce Dashboard's expected-vs-actual trend showed billable-looking hours were thinner than the invoices assumed.

03Weeks 4–5
Rules tuning

Each delivery team's app rules marked its client's stack — repos, cloud consoles, project trackers — as Productive, while Global App Rules swept the long tail of Unmarked apps into sensible categories. Target productive hours were set per department in General settings to match each engagement's reality.

04Weeks 6–12
Results

Department time distribution became the backbone of client reviews. Utilization now comes straight off the dashboard instead of reconstructed timesheets, and the top/bottom department views flagged an overloaded project team before the deadline crunch hit.

Per-department app rules were the unlock. The same tool is productive on one client project and a distraction on another — Momentum is the first platform we found that actually understands that distinction out of the box.
