Momentum + Slack
Push daily focus digests, attendance summaries, and attention-needed alerts straight into Slack channels and DMs — so insight reaches managers without another tab.
What you can do
How Momentum reads communication & collaboration time
Slack time is captured by the desktop agent like any other app — here's how it flows into classification, scores, and dashboards.
Where Slack should land in your app rules
There is rarely one right answer for chat apps. A common pattern: Productive for Support, Sales, and Management departments via overrides; Unmarked as the global default so the time is visible without inflating or deflating scores. Reserve Non-Productive for consumer messengers, not the tools your company actually runs on.
Slack + Momentum, answered
Does Momentum read message content?+
No. The agent records which application or window is active, for how long, and aggregate input counts. Message bodies, call audio, and channel contents are never captured.
How do I stop meetings from tanking maker productivity scores?+
Leave meeting apps Unmarked globally or mark them Productive for meeting-heavy departments. Scores are computed against each department's own rules, so an engineering org can value focus time without penalising managers for calls.
Can the same app be Productive for one team and Non-Productive for another?+
Yes — that is exactly what per-department overrides are for. The Global App Rule sets the default and each department override replaces it for that department's users.
